Cable Production

100 cable conduits, 450 plug housings, and several kilometers of individual lines run through a modern automobile.  So that safety and functionality aren't shortchanged, meticulous attention to detail are required when developing the vehicle electrical system.  From individual wires with variously defined colors and lengths, having diverse connectors and special markings, thick bundles are braided together.  This is important so that everything fits during final assembly, and the workflow is not interrupted.  The formboard serves as the guide for the correct production of the wiring harness, based on the circuit diagram and the virtual cable installation (E 3D).  The formboard specifies precisely the lengths of lines, cross sections, the number of cores, and the allocation of connectors.  The wiring is then submitted to a circuit check in which the system is tested for function, load capacity, and short circuits.
