Strak Interior
Strak is not simply the geometric depiction of all the surfaces that are visible to the customer, but rather a bridge between design and construction in automobile manufacturing. As with exterior strak, the job here is to implement all of the formal aesthetic requirements. In this respect, with the great diversity of parts involved, an automobile's interior is an enormous challenge. Volke is a master of this process, creating STRAK SURFACES from the tiniest pointer, to the radio, to the seats, and even the headliner are depicted with the highest degree of detail. As the basis for the surfaces, the Volke Design department creates a clay model in a scale of 1:1, which is then scanned using a laser. The scan thus becomes a template for the strak. Using modern programs such as IcemSurf, Volke produces perfect freeform surfaces. Complete components are then constructed from these Class-A-surfaces
